I purchased a sofa at the Spanish Town, March Pen Road branch in May of this year. By June 2 I had to make a report that my brand-new sofa’s material was already fading. Also, the cushions offered no support because they were extremely thin. Can I tell you how I felt deceived by the company and the confidence I had that I would get only the very highest quality goods diminished. I was furious. I went to the store to lodge a complaint about my extreme disappointment with my purchase. A Customer Service Representative named Cindy took my complaint and contacted me within 4 days after I made the initial complaint. She was extremely efficient, courteous and exemplified extraordinary customer service because she profusely apologized for the defective goods and the inconvenience this has caused me. On June 15 she informed me that they would replace the sofa. She ensured that I was not further inconvenienced by having to come to the store to select my replacement. Instead she sent pictures of the stock that was in the store and the warehouse for me to choose. Now this I consider to be excellent customer service. Customer Service Representative Cindy exemplified the qualities of a true brand ambassador for Singer because of her professionalism in valuing people. What further amazes me about her work attitude is that at every step of the process she ensured that I was updated. Knowing she would be going on vacation leave very soon she ensured that the replacement order was made, and delivery date confirmed before she went on leave. Although at first, I was really embarrassed to tell my friends about my unfortunate disappointment with getting inferior goods from a reputed store like Singer. I was ecstatic to brag about the quick turnaround in getting my complaint dealt with. She ensured that customer satisfaction was guaranteed to the very end while she was still on vacation leave because she called to ensure that the sofa was delivered on the date June 18 as promised. Not only did she do that, but she enquired if I was satisfied with my replacement sofa I must point out that it was because of her attitude from the very beginning, the way in which she executed her duties by restoring my confidence and trust in the company’s products that I would continue to shop at Singer. Even my friends and family were very impressed with how swiftly the matter was dealt with. Singer has now become the top-rated store in delivering excellent customer service. Cindy has indeed raised the bar in customer service at Singer. She went above and beyond the call of duty to save the company from being publicly embarrassed in the Gleaner. She exceeded my expectation and I am now one very happy and satisfied customer. This is why I told her that I would stop by the store to give her a personal thank you as I have only met her once.
