New Kirifuri Camping Ground

Camped here for G.W. 2017. There are several cabins just big enough to sleep in. We pitched a tent (a few spots with electrical service [additional cost]). Stayed in the upper field, with only one porta-potty. Fairly nice place with a lot of free wood for campfires, just walk into the woods. Most other campers were courteous of others (one group of 20STH males, not). Most sites are not shaded (helps dry out tent and tarp). Watch out for deer droppings!

I used this caravan site early on Nov. Instead of freezing temperature we monopolied a sky full of stars , night view of Nikko, and silence of a forest. Warmth of fire was special.

I don't think it has the minimum functionality of a campsite. There is no place to throw away the charcoal. There is evidence that many of our customers were in trouble, and that they had thrown them away near the kitchen or in the U-shaped groove barbecue Q furnace. I understand that you can take out garbage, but you cannot take out charcoal or burnt wood residue. There is no information on this matter in the map and cautionary notes received at the reception. I tried to call the reception, but it was out of service. I had no choice but to leave it in the barbecue Q furnace. I'm taking money, so I should have the minimum equipment.

When I stopped by the campsite to see the waterfall around Kirifuri, the person who was in the administration building brought a map of the area and gave me directions carefully even though it was closed. .. I am not a guest of the camp, but I am grateful for the kindness. I didn't know the outline of the campsite, but I would like to visit as a guest next time if the facility has such a kind and polite manager or owner.
