Anytime Fitness Nishi-Nippori

Solid gym. It's much wider (and cheaper) than most other gyms I've found in Tokyo. There's a really good range of equipment available.

Overall, very good gym. They have free weights on the lower floor, along with a multitude of machines. There is more than enough cardio equipment on the upper floor, including elliptical machines which are not super common in Japan. Even during their busy hours, it is not crowded and you have more than enough space to complete your own work out. Will definitely continue to go here as long as I live in the Yanaka area.

Fairly standard anytime gym. If you are looking for health centered machines skip anytime Fitness. Also their staff if very junior and do not understand good posture on machines or on free weights. But if you are in dire need of a gym, it will do the job. Ideally you also have some clue on how to joy hurt yourself during training.

This is the largest and best equipped Anytime fitness I have been to in Japan. Tons of free racks for Bench and Squats, more machines than any other AF I have been to, and has dumbbells up to like 50kg!! That is almost non-existent in Japan. The gym has 2 floors with the cardio equipment upstairs along with VERY spacious showers (compared to other anytimes I have been to in Japan). Overall this is a 5 star gym for Anytime fitness. The rate of 7500 yen is quite decent as well. My main anytime is in Higashi Ginza, costs 8900 yen a month and has half the equipment of the Nishi Nippori one.

The gym is okay, but the staff is extremely impolite and not professional !!! I have never seen this in Japan.
