Awashima Shrine

I have no idea why some people call it a creepy place. It is just a unique shrine that collects dolls and other items from people and arranges them in spectacular fashion. The dolls are consigned to the sea every year on March 3, the day of doll festival in Japan. The place has been in the news(urban legend) also for some unverified claims that the hair of some the dolls keeps growing and that the dolls can curse people etc. but I take it with a pinch of salt. The shrine is very small and took me just 30 minutes to see everything.(also, the free parking is only for 30 minutes!) A lot more interesting than the usual Japanese shrines which are more or less the same.
