Absolutley beautiful area well outside the city.

It's a place for mountain training Since it is related to Ashikaga, it is a Myoshinji school of the Rinzai sect, which is rare in the Kanto region. You can drive up to the foot of the mountain now, but you used to be on your own foot from the stone pagoda that shows the entrance to the approach to the shrine, which is quite far away. Even the stone steps leading from the parking lot to the main hall are hey, so it's scary just to imagine the worship of the past. For those who enjoy mountaineering and hiking, it is a delicious place to see cultural properties, enjoy the scenery, and walk. Due to the typhoon last year, I couldn't go up to Gyodosan Kumonokake Bridge, but I was fortunate to be able to go right under it and see it for the time being.

The road to the parking lot is quite narrow and I don't want to pass each other. I think that you can go to Joinji Temple with sneakers on the stairs, but I think that trekking shoes are good at least from there. I went up to the place of sleeping Buddha and looked at it. Visit 2020-11-16

It is a narrow road to the nearby parking lot, but you can drive there. (Although the parking lot was still full) The road is maintained by stairs so you can walk, but the slope is quite steep. Those who are lame may be tough. I think I expected the autumn leaves a little too much. Hikers climbed further. For the purpose of sightseeing, it may be easier to see the huge stones of famous grass.

As it is called "Gyodoyama" Jyoinji, if you climb the parking lot and Mt. Gyodo further from the temple, you will see the scenery overlooking Jyoinji as seen in the picture leaflet and interesting spots such as sleeping buds. I can. However, shoes that allow you to walk firmly are essential.
