Half of the platform is a station under the bridge on the Kyushu Expressway, which opened in 2001 and is the newest station among the newly opened stations of Kumamoto Electric Railway. The station was unmanned and there was no station building. There was only a single platform and about half was under the highway, so it was a dark impression even during the day. Previously, the railroad track passed along the national highway, but due to the widening work of national highway 387, it was necessary to convert the land of the Kikuchi line, so it was relocated to the current location in February 2001, and Suya at that time. Mitsuishi Station is located between the station and Kuroishi Station.

There is no sidewalk on the road in front of the station (about 10m). There are many cars depending on the time of day, which is dangerous for children and the elderly.
