A great experience! Everything right about Japan; efficient, thorough, helpful and with phenomenal customer service. Most staff speak English and they have interpreters available, if needed, and they also have interpreter devices that work with the push of a button. I was an in-patient for five days, and is was an awesome experience. The food was surprisingly good. Japanese, of course, but very visually appealing. The hot food was hot and the cold food was cold.

I think the hospital should mention on it's English site it takes 5040 yen if you come without doctor's recommendation. It was a surprising news after arrival. Update: After I got the recommendation and could experience the services of the hospital. The number of departments one can visit a day is limited to 2. I had a pretty bad experience with gastroenterology department when I couldn't take any tests on the day, but without them a doctor couldn't provide me any information.I asked why they take reservations then and what will I pay money for after waiting for 1.5 hours if they can't provide any service on the same day but the reply was that 'these are the rules'. These rules seem to allow to suck out money from patients and insurance system while providing no service.. On the other hand, I had a quite good experience with gynaecology department. You should be prepared that you ll have to wait -up to an hour- even if you arrive before your reservation time. However,I thought that the doctors are professional and very knowledgeable, providing all the tests and options to the patient to make decisions. So weigh the positive and negative sides when planning your visit. The experience may vary by department you go.

A modern medical center. Support for people who don't speak Japanese also provided.

I was admitted there for gall bladder stone removal, i was there for 3 nights. The Dr who attended me spoke very good English and explained to me everything very well . The evening before the operation they send a nurse to explain to me the next days procedure, but she brought along another one who could translate from Japanese to English. The nurses were very helpful and friendly especially the night nurse. One can choose between private word and general word, I chose general because I didn’t want to be lonely. A very nice clean hospital.

Great doctors and nurses: 1) administrators at the front desk could use some better training: process not patient focused 2) nurses recognized my pain and issue with my leg right away, treated me well, also asked many questions. Some I thought odd. I had a leg injury where I tore tendons in my ankle and it was badly swollen. I’d had a couple of flights on business however. 3) they quickly put 2&2 together and before I knew it I had a CT scan and they found the injury had a large blood clot that had broken up and gone to my lungs. This hospital saved my life, no question about it. For those who need it, they provide English language support.
