楽しい観光を始まる駅! A railway station to start from if you are a tourist! For the railway buffs: Bentenjima Station was opened on July 11, 1906 when the section of the Tookaidoo Main Line connecting Hamamatsu Station with Ōbu Station was completed. It was originally a seasonal station, open only during the summer months for visitors to the nearby beach resorts. It became a permanent station on September 1, 1916. Regularly scheduled freight service was discontinued in 1971. Bentenjima Station has a single island platform serving Track 1 and Track 2. The platforms are unusually wide, and the station building is located underneath the platforms. The station building is manned only during peak hours and has automated ticket machines, TOICA automated turnstiles and a manned “Green Window” service counter. The station building also fronts Japan National Route 1 highway.

What is more “home size” than necessary? ⁉️

Visited after a long time. Last time it was a busy season because it was a festival, but this year it was canceled and people were sparse and lonely.

Perhaps the number of users has decreased, when I went there before 7 am for the first time in a long time, the ticket vending machine was closed and there were times when I didn't know what to do without the station staff. When I inquired by phone at the ticket gate, I don't need a ticket, so just take the train and declare at the station where you got off and settle. And that. I couldn't find such a guide when I used it, so I will introduce it here.
