Excellent place to take a break from the crowd to Kiyomizu ... v scenic and peaceful beautiful. Great desserts n sweets to buy. Fun things to do here as well

There was some feeling of zen having lunch here. Fumon-an is a shop selling Japanese tea snacks and sweets as well as deserts. They also serve noodle plus rice set for lunch which they say is limited to 20 orders. The presentation is simple but great and the taste is just right. What I like most is the ambience where you can relax and take it easy. Please note you have to enter a small alley from the main road to get there and it is easy to miss it.

Really enjoyed the jelly here. You mix the warabimochi with the soy powder and dip into the dark molasses. The instructions are provided to you on the piece of paper on the tray they give you. The mochi was so good, I feel like it is a must try. There are two shops one to eat and one for packaged goods which includes the mochi that you can bring home to make. The mochi expires in about a 4 to 5 days so I was not able to bring it home. The location is in a alley so it is easy to miss.

Love the jelly here and the ambience is nice. Also have some sampling of their snacks.
