Traces of removed tracks found everywhere. It is easy to imagine that there were many trains. In the era of JNR, there should have been a train that was connected with postal diesel trains in Okayama Ward. Currently, trains of 1 or 2 cars run only plainly. I don't think the 50 series passenger car was in operation.
The inside of the station building is clean and you can spend your time comfortably in the cooler waiting room.
The wood-based waiting room is decorated with cute sunflowers.
There are also books and tourist pamphlets for Sayo-cho, which can be helpful if you have trouble eating.
This is the only station in the former Nanko-cho, and the nearest station to the sunflower fields in Nanko.
There is also a shuttle bus at the sunflower festival, but it is also fun to walk on the country road to the sunflower fields in various places in the former Nanko-machi.
Please note that traffic IC cards can not be used.
There is also free parking for train station users.
We visited to see the sunflower field in Sayo-cho. I switched here from Himeji at Harima Shingu and came here (Tokuhisa Harima). You can come in about an hour. I think it's a bit long, but you'll get there in no time if you're enjoying the lively sound of diesel and the peaceful scenery! When I arrived at the station and tried to get out of the ticket gate, a station worker came out and was collecting tickets. By the way, IC cards cannot be used at Harima Tokuhisa Station, so those coming from the Himeji area should buy tickets at IC card compatible stations.
When I left the ticket gate, a tourist association in Sayo-cho greeted me (about five people came down from the station together). He guided me to a direct bus at the sunflower field in Nanyo (Nanko Sunflower Field), which stopped at the station, and gave me a fan as well (it was hot on this day). He said that he did not get any money when he asked the bus driver for the fare. I felt the true hospitality of Japanese people who are still living in the countryside, not in the city. By the way, there is one bus every 1-2 hours, but there was also a bus that came out according to the train time.
About 15 minutes from Harima Tokuhisa Station, we arrived at Nanko Sunflower Field. When stepping down the bus, there was a sunflower covering the whole field. The sunflower of Sayo who grew up steadily after the summer sun ... By the way, 200 yen is required to enter this Nanko Sunflower Field. You can also get sunflower seeds to commemorate the entrance.
Finally…
In the summer, the sunflowers are in full bloom around the station, and you can see the sunflower fields shining yellow from the train window, but the Hishinshin line passing through Harima Tokuhisa Station has been squeezed by the evil hands of abolition . As a matter of fact, when I went to Nanko Sunflower Field, I felt that many cars were parked in the parking lot, but the number of people who were on the direct bus connecting the station and the sunflower field was countless. . The train on the way back and forth was about 3 to 4 people on board. This is what I noticed on the way home, but there was an air-conditioned waiting room at such a rural station, and the residents were going there. In addition, there is a tourist information center in the station, so I thought it was an indispensable station for Sayo people. When entering the station building, several local people were talking happily. It was a good place for the community. I have never seen a station that plays such an important role for me in a city. This is an important station for Sayo. It may be overwhelmingly convenient to come by car, but there is also the goodness and warmth of coming by train. Although the number of trains is not large, it teaches the "heart" that modern Japanese have forgotten and have as a Japanese. Please support this Harima Tokuhisa Station and the Himeshin Line passing through this station. The Hime Shinsen is an important route that sows the seeds of the “heart” that today's Japanese people lack. I sincerely hope that the future will not go away.
It is a long sentence, but thank you for reading to the end 🙇
It was possible to pass each other, but the rail has been removed, and there is a grassy platform.
