You have to drive up a difficult mountain path to get there, but it is worth it. The temple is stunning.

A lovely bike ride from the toba side

A very beautiful and quiet temple atop Aonominesan dedicated to the fisherman and Ama of the area. You can hike or drive from the Toba side, or drive up from the Shima side to find wonderfully carved wooden details aging with the land and several old photos and paintings from years gone by. The temple also has public washrooms. (Hiking from the Toba side starts in Matsuo. There are some signs guiding to the trailhead but it can be hard to find.)
