Amazing onsen in the center of the city but hidden inside an alley! Entrance ¥100, you need to bring your own shampoos and towel. You need to put the money inside the box which is on a wall below a window just a bit further from the entrance. Beppu onsen stamp is located there as well. Operating time 14:00-16:00, bathing outside this time zone is only for members, no parking. You can see your stuff while bathing, no lockers. The tub is small size rectangle shape made of tiles, placed at the top center of the bathing area with quite some space around it to wash up. Quite hot, when I bathed I measured the temperature inside the tub at 44.5°C and at the source at 57°C. The source is in one of the corners with quite a lot of minerals accumulated around it and you can lift the plastic tube to allow more hot water into the tub, in case you want higher temperature water. The facilities were nice and clean, minimal with no decoration and nice retro feeling. To find it you need to be on side back road of Tokiwa mall, you need to locate the grey building which has the name of the onsen written with paper on its side, and go through its small narrow alley. Please respect the bathing hours of 14:00-16:00 for non members. Recommended! Salted sodium bicarbonate spring.

Beppu Onsen Road 88 hot spring tour target facility The price will be raised a little to 200 yen for adults. If there are no people in the mailbox, we will charge the post. There is no private parking, so it is convenient to park at the parking lot of Tokiwa department store and walk. A little-known hot spring in the back alley. After the bath, your body will be warm even in the middle of winter.

Bathing around 2:20 pm on Thursday. Since there is no parking lot, I parked my car at the coin parking. The place was difficult to understand, and I first went to the restaurant “Fugumatsu” as a landmark, and it was in the alley next to the parking lot. There is a sign at the entrance saying “It is strictly forbidden to take a bath other than the union members”, but when you look at the explanations on the side, there was time for non-union members to enter. The display was a little confusing. The price was 100 yen and I put it in a price box on the wall a little away from the entrance. There was no customer. There are no valuables lockers. The bathtub was big enough for one person. The hot water was the right temperature. The building is obviously old, but it was clean. Hot spring ingredients stick to the tiles and reminded me of Yufuin's mother's family bath. Entered for about 30 minutes and went out to replace the customer. The view from the window is the Tokiha Beppu flat parking lot. If you go to the Tokiwa Beppu shop for shopping, you can walk and take a bath.
