Shōouji Temple

Cleaner of two neighbouring shrines. More of a funeral parlour. Quiet and nothing really special. A bit hard to access.

The opening day of Jizo on the 24th of every month. I was able to meet Jizo, who has a very strong presence. I made a reservation in advance for self-zazen and tried it. It was a comfortable time to use alone, and it was a fulfilling time to sit at your own pace ♫ Self-zazen was 20 minutes ✖️ 2 sets for 500 yen.

Rokukaku-do stands out from Renjaku-dori, and a monument to the 300-year revival is built. This temple is called Kurokanzan. It is derived from the fact that this land is called a black bell, because Amida Nyorai, who is thought to have been the principal priest, was dug out and black iron was used. A bridge over the pond along the approach to the pond, the arrangement of the stones of the sky is wonderful. Konotekasiwa in the courtyard is 300 years old and is 3m around the trunk and about 10m in height. Also called a thousand trees. A lovely figure of Amida Nyorai's [Monument] stands on the approach. This is a memorial tower from the Kamakura era to the Muromachi era, and the stone statue of Chichibu Aoishi weathers and feels the passage of the times. A wide precinct, beautifully cleaned and refreshed. Temples with lots of attractions in the city will delight your eyes.
