Shinminato onsen

Excellent local onsen housed at the bottom of an apartment block! Entrance ¥300 for the public onsen with sauna. Four private tubs (no sauna) available for ¥700/30min., ¥1000/45min., ¥1300/1h. You need to bring your own towel and shampoos (available for purchase as well ¥30 mini shampoos and ¥200 for towel). Operating hours 12:00-24:00, there is a parking on the opposite which offers 1 hour free of charge. Private tub: you go to the narrow corridor which has 4 different color doors with names and find your place. There is a small narrow changing room and a western style toilet (in very low angle interesting) in each private onsen. The washing area is spacious with two stools, buckets, a shower head, a mirror and a big massage-style sofa to sit or even lay down! Everything is made of tiles, the floor, the walls and the tub, there is a big window as well. The tub is small size, rectangular shape, good for two people and you can control the flow of onsen water added or add cold water. The water is quite special. Although categorized as a "simple spring" this is a moor onsen (so its closer to a sodium-bicarbonate spring), meaning the water comes from deep underground and contains a lot of organic matter of plant origin. Plants carbonize after a long time in the ground, and eventually become coal. It has a black colour since it goes through peat and lignite layers which are on the process of forming coal but are not fully carbonized yet. This water has a high content of the plant-derived algae-like sediments typically found in such hot springs with beneficial skin effects, you will feel you skin nice and smooth after bathing! Nice clean facilities with a retro feeling. Will definitely go back to try the public onsen. Simple moor spring, pH 8.5, metasilicic acid 178.7mg, source temperature measured at 49°C (in the tub 44.3°C), gensen kakenagashi.

Even if you don't go to Beppu Shinminato Onsen near Nishi-Oita's Easy Park. As a drink, hot spring water is good for me, who has a weak gastrointestinal tract. Very good, when you drink too much alcohol Drinking the hot spring water here eliminated my sickness and I understood that it is good for the gastrointestinal tract. Pain from joints and nerves in the body will be comfortable the next morning. Hair dryers are also available for rent. Maybe it's been run here for a long time, but it has a retro feel, but the quality of the spring is the best, so if you have pain, I would like people other than imprisonment to visit once ⁉️

The parking lot is small and the entrance is difficult to understand. The bathing fee is 300 yen, and the black hot water is unique, and it feels like a small public bath that has been around for a long time. After taking a bath, I feel that my skin has become smooth. I like public baths like this.

Even if you take a bath out of the natural mall spring, you will not get cold. The price is also quite cheap for the spring quality, and it has always been my favorite public bath. Although it is a face size, there are free rental towels and shampoo rinse body soap, so you can come in easily.
