This is an expansive temple with a number of points of interest, such as the impressive gate with its statues, the collection of Jizo statues around it, a variety of trees, old cemetery, and a secret well all the way in the back. Not necessarily worth making a special trip for, but good as part of an area stroll.
Nice temple
Koanji is on the way from Fuchu Station on the Keio Line to Bubaigawara.
A temple of the Soto sect for samurai who seems to have been built by Takauji Ashikaga.
I felt that it was a temple that prayed for how to live in this world, not for the afterlife or paradise, but for the Zodiac Bodhisattva, Nio, Bokeh Prevention Bodhisattva, Dogen Zenshi.
The family crests of the two pulls used by Ashikaga, Kira, and Imagawa shine golden, and they are dignified. Rather than a temple, they are likely to be used as a base for samurai families.
In one corner of the temple, old Bodhisattva statues are collected and placed, and the date of the Edo period is engraved.
It makes us feel the history.
I think it is an indispensable place to take a walk in the history of Fuchu.
It seems that he also runs a nursery school, and it seems that a child with a good samurai knowledge will grow up.
Soto Zen Temple is about a 10-minute walk from Bubaigawara Station. It seems that Yoshikazu Nitta, who was aiming for Kamakura at the time of the Battle of Kawarabu, set up the headquarters. Yoshisada Nitta won this battle, but the temple was destroyed by fire and was rebuilt by Takashi Ashikaga. In the precincts, there is Hideyoshi Inari, which is said to be the residence of Hidehara Fujiwara, known for defeating centipedes, and there are many remnants of the historical people of each era, such as the well of Benkei Inou. Also, the skyscrapers are wonderful.
Parking lot is a large but common temple
Be careful because it closes at 5 o'clock
