Jokokuji

It is a temple of the Soto sect, a family temple of the Yuki family, and has a long history. It is a family temple for my family, and I have been indebted to it for generations. It is a wonderful temple with many flowers and a large ginkgo tree. It is a temple closely related to Soto Sect Eiheiji Temple, and it seems to be highly prestigious. For generations, the voice of the priest has been good, and listening to the sutra chanting will heal you. Before Corona, I also participated in Segaki every year. In addition, we have dedicated the 500 Arhats. For me, it is an important place that can be called a clean barrier.

結城にはつむぎの町としての側面と城下町としての側面が有るが、城下町としての歴史はさらに、鎌倉初期に始まる結城氏の時代と、江戸時代中期以降の水野氏の治下とに大きく分けられる。(結城家は1601年、越前に転封となった) ここ乗国寺は室町時代に創設された結城氏の菩提所(位牌を安置する寺)で、曹洞宗(禅宗)のお寺。結城家第18代・秀康が徳川から結城家に養子入りして当主になった、という縁もあってか、江戸幕府から寺領を安堵されたそうで、寺社が多い結城の中でも大きなお寺なのだろう。 因みに、少し離れたところに結城家御廟(慈眼院跡)があり、これを管理しているのも乗国寺とのこと。 (尚、結城家の祖とされる結城(小山)朝光の墓は町なかの称名寺(浄土真宗)にある。) 乗国寺は東結城駅から徒歩7分ほどの田園地帯にあり、ここから結城城跡(城跡歴史公園)までは更に田舎道を徒歩20分ほど。結城の中心部(旧市街)からはかなり離れている。乗国寺の駐車場入口の案内板には結城の昔の地図が描かれているので、現在の結城の街と比較して歩いてみるのも面白い。

A temple of the Soto sect built in the 15th century, about a 5-minute walk north of Higashi-Yuki Station. The buildings such as the Sanmon, Rokkakudo, and Main Hall are wonderful, but when I visited, the cluster amaryllis around the temple was also wonderful.

Every Sunday (Sunday), I attend Zen meditation. Visiting tombs every day for 2,260 days (20,06,29)

It is a beautiful temple, less than 10 minutes by bicycle from Yuki Station.
