Amazing place to visit
高田久司 (11/11/2020)
We visited the 88 sacred sites in Toyoshima. It is a temple of the Shingon sect Toyoyama school and is called Meioyama Fudoin Shigebayashi Temple, and it is the 13th temple of the sacred place. Shigebayashi Temple was the last temple of Atagoyama Shinpukuji Temple, but now it is the last temple of Gokokuji Temple. The principal idol is Fudo Myo. Although the date of construction of Shigebayashi Temple is unknown, it is said that Hideyoshi Hoin (Keian 2nd year loneliness: 1649) became a priest because he felt the majesty of the temple's principal image, Fudo Myo. At Shigebayashi Temple, a uniaxial statue of Fudo Myo is handed down along with a piece of paper that says Kobo Daishi's autograph. This axis was placed in the womb of the principal idol, Fudo Myo, in the last years of Kansei, but when the old main hall was re-roofed in 1890, a craftsman fell from the beam and became the arm of the main idol, Fudo Myo. It is said to be a temple treasure with the axis found in the womb at that time.

It takes about 15 minutes from Ikebukuro Station. It is said that the Toshima Ward Board of Education postulates an image of Fudo Akira who is said to have been drawn by a ruler. This is an episode of an unusual discovery that it was put in the body of the immigrant king of the main shrine in the 政 政 and was discovered in 1890 (1890). As it is unknown whether it is open to the public, please contact us if you are interested.
