I found it…. Soothing, fresh green carpet. An extraordinary space standing in a quiet place. Bring your own lunch and enjoy it too.

A temple related to Tokugawa Mitsukuni. Adjacent to Shimizu-dongoue Park.

I visited a cedar trees (tree height 30 m / trunk circumference 5.2 m / age 500 years, city designated national treasure) for the purpose. The temple in the hill is simple, but the lower square is a park, and Cryptomeria rugged up there. Despite being pruned, the branches are wild and the appearance like old samurai who survived the years of 500 years is wonderful.

I've known Kiyomizu-dera for a 1-minute walk from my family (or rather, just behind the family!), But I never thought that the surrounding area was maintained as a park!
