Awesome spot for 500yen only, with a stunning atmosphere and view and a friendly staff. But it gets packed fast. Was lucky to enjoy it by myself for a while before so many people showed up.

The hot spring which represents the island. As it is common in Japan this hot spring divides men and women for their baths and it changes daily who can enter the "beautiful" side of the hot spring. However, I have been to the both sides and I'd argue that both are equally beautiful. You can enjoy the ocean view from both sides so no worries there.

No frills onsen with a fantastic view of the mountains and ocean. Note that while we had the onsen pretty much to ourselves (mid-June), the onsen is reportedly packed during most other seasons. This onsen does not have food or onsite massage. Just the onsen with a Hachijoujima towel you can purchase.
