It was 10 years ago, but I would like to tell you about it.
When I had a medical examination with severe abdominal pain, I was diagnosed with "appendicitis" by medical examination, blood test, and CT (simple imaging), and was told that "surgery is not necessary and can be treated by administration of antibiotics", and I was hospitalized for 7 days.
After a few days, the pain subsided and my blood test values returned to normal and I was discharged. The diagnosis was that "if it recurs in the future, surgery may be necessary, but in the case of Mr. ●●, there is no need to worry for the time being."
Two days later, at midnight, my abdominal pain recurred.
I called the emergency department and answered, "Maybe surgery will be needed, but we don't have surgery equipment, so please go elsewhere."
I came to realize that the diagnosis of "no surgery required" was a convenient way to "cannot operate".
I searched for a hospital that I could accept myself, and had surgery on the same day, but I had appendicitis with an abscess in the abdominal cavity. Simply put, peritonitis. When I was hungry, it was full of pus, and it seems that the hole in the intestine that had been opened due to appendicitis had already been closed. In other words, there was a perforation in the intestine when I was examined for abdominal pain.
Doctors didn't believe it was the whole brain, but it's too poor a story.
The doctor who came to the rounds after the surgery and wore yellow tortoiseshell glasses smiled, "Hey, I was relieved," and I had no choice but to smile.
Another point. When I was discharged from the hospital, when I thought that it was "quite expensive", I was given "emergency medical care addition". I went to the counter myself during the consultation hours and was not aware of "emergency". At the counter, he said, "Since it is a system that can be converted into patients hospitalized in the acute phase, Mr. ●● needs to pay."
Two months later, the amount billed to the company's health insurance company was different from the amount paid at the counter, and when I looked it up via the health insurance company, it was discovered that I was "overpaying."
It seems that the cause was that Kiba Hospital was not designated as a target hospital for "emergency medical care addition" due to inadequate administrative procedures.
When I called him directly, he said, "I was about to contact Mr. ●●." It had been a long time since I had requested the medical fee, so it was clear that I was not going to refund it if I didn't notice it, and I was amazed.
It is a terrible story that I neglected to contact because I was refunded over 10,000 yen for the hospitalization fee of about 70,000 yen.
In the past, when I consulted with my teacher about a mental illness in my family while treating my cold, I was laughed at by my nose with a nurse.
I will never go there ever since.
