Loved the temple. Nice ambience and very peaceful place. There are so many old statues that one can marvel at, not to forget the temple structure itself. It was a very refreshing and calming experience going in here. There are small bells that you can tie to a stand placed in the temple premises to fulfil your wishes. For me it was a very soothing experience.

Temple with many sculptures around it. They don't allow to take pictures of the inside, and they don't have the meaning of the omamoris & other souvenirs they sell in English, so not very foreign friendly. Despite this, I recommend the visit.

A cultural heritage that is distinct from the surrounding buildings, displaying a nice contrast in the middle of the city.

a place that parents will come to pray for the health and goodness of their children

This is a temple where I believe prayers from couples wanting children and for children to be safe, happy and healthy are answered. The patron goddess is Hārītīalso known as Kishimojin, (鬼子母神). She is considered a revered goddess and demon in some Buddhist traditions. In her positive aspect, she is regarded for the protection of children, easy delivery and happy child rearing while her demonic aspects include the belief of her terror and punishment towards irresponsible parents and unruly children.
