Beautiful temple, the gardens are splendid
Enkyoji is a special head temple of the Koyasan Shingon sect in Kitagata-cho, Motosu-gun, Gifu Prefecture. The mountain number is Ikegamiyama. The principal image is a wooden statue of the Holy Kannon Bodhisattva and a wooden statue of Fudo Myo. Tokai 36 Fudoson No. 32. Mino Seven Lucky Gods (Benzaiten). It owns many cultural properties and is called "Mino's Shosoin". Also, the garden is beautiful. It is said that Kukai was founded by the command of Emperor Saga. The origin of the current temple was built by Ryosuke, and was given the name of "Ikekyozan Enkyoji" by Emperor Ichijo. It is because the Ming mirror was excavated when the pond was built in the precincts and presented it. It is protected by successive powers such as Nobunaga Oda, Hideyoshi Toyotomi, and Ieyasu Tokugawa, and has also received a red seal.
From JR Gifu station square bus stop Nos. 7 and 8, take the direction of Kitagata Bus Center for about 30 minutes, get off at Kitagata Bus Center, and walk for about 2 minutes to reach Niomon. It's closer than I expected. After that, please see the photos posted by the visitors ❗️ I also posted some. The precincts are not so large, but it feels condensed, and the Niomon has an important cultural property, a small hall, Yakushi Nyorai, Seitoku Taishido, Benzaiten Shrine, a large fish Kannon Bodhisattva statue, a triple tower, a new Kannon hall, next to it. Hachiman Shrine is one of the Mino Sankoho ❗️ Addendum, Enkyoji Honbo is on the right side of the Niomon Gate. The red stamp is here ❗️
The precincts that stretch from east to west centering on a park like a rotary leave a strong remnant of the past, and you can feel the power and world view that small temples do not have.
The precincts are rich in variety such as temples and ponds, making them ideal for strolling.
You can also get several kinds of red stamps at Honbo.
It's a good place. There is also a course where you can walk around, and there are ponds and triple towers, so you can enjoy it for about an hour. The gate is especially nice.
