A really nice and cheap camping ground. Around 600 yens to pitch your tent. You can also sleep inside one of their three dorms. 1000 yen, no blanket (200y to rent one). 150 yens for a hot shower. Free WiFi! Not sure about peak season but it's very quiet in September. The place works slowly. No water running in the kitchen but there is fridges, microwave and even an oven! The place is clean but you'll find insects around nothing weird being located in a forest. There is a convenient store near the entrance. It's a peaceful place. Like it.

I love this place.

The worst experience ever. We have walked in the evening with very heavy backpacks from Yamanaka (around 2,5 kms) only to find out that the campsite is abandoned, and in fact looks very spooky. There was no sign in English and literally there was no one there (the campsite is in a dark forest, far from the main road and you have to walk along a road with no light). It was already late and dark (around 8 pm) and we had no other choice than just camp there. The facilities looked like from the 70', no shower, no light in the toilet, no electricity, just some taps with cold water. In the morning a janitor came and charged us 1600 yen. The campsite is present in google maps and there are signs from the main road, so it's misleading and it's very cheeky to charge us after what we got trough. Sleeping in a creepy forest with no one around but very noisy crows is kind of stressful.

A public campsite where you can stay cheaply. As it is publicly owned, there are no excellent facilities. Showers require reservations. There is no laundry and the toilet is Japanese style. There is a convenience store (Seven-Eleven) and a coin laundry nearby. As for the bath, we recommend the bath facility called Benifuji no Yu, which is a 5-minute drive away. (There is a coin laundry called Aqua before going to Benifuji no Yu)

Quiet, but damp. It is far from the lakeside. To see Mt. Fuji from here I don't think I can. for your information
