Wakayama Station

Wakayama railway terminal is a must for every Japan Rail Pass user. Going from Osaka to Koyasan it is your cheapest connection. Although you need an hour longer but you can safe over 1000 to 2000 ¥/person, which you can use for your next lunch. The station staff is very friendly and most importantly you skip all the crowded trains. I am surprised that this option was not mentioned in the official JR Rail Pass handbook and that Google Maps offer this option only after adding extra search criteria.

Wakayama JR Station Many restaurants around with big shopping area

English service lady is very nice and speak English correctly and fluently. Station stuff are kind too, always smile and help nicely. Make Wakayama city warm! Environment of station is nice too.
