We visited the family camp for 3 days and 2 nights during the 3 consecutive holidays on September 2020. I visited from the Kanto area, got off near Nasu on the Tohoku Expressway, and arrived on the lower road in over an hour.
This campsite has a superb view above all. I walked a little from the tent site, but from the observatory (terrace) in a small place, I was able to enjoy the wonderful view as if it were on the site. The sky is full of stars at night. The scene and the calm air are very comfortable.
This time I used the power supply site. As shown in the 4th photo, there was a place filled with gravel about 3m x 8m, and it felt like it would fit in a fixed place on the side of the road. The free site allows you to freely take up space from a large space (3rd photo. The viewpoint is shifted to the right from the 4th photo). It seems that you can enjoy free here. Also, the bungalow area on the hillside (around light blue) in the venue nap on the official website. There is a small space near it where you can put up a few tents. If you like a quiet atmosphere, that is recommended.
Near the administration building, there were slides, swings, and a half-timbered climbing platform (athletic style?), Which children enjoyed.
Both the toilet and the sink are clean enough. The number is not large, but it can be used without being so mixed. I didn't use the shower this time, but there were many people waiting and the inside of the administration building was a little cramped, so it's better to stagger the time and go to the outside bath.
It's a little far from the Kanto area, but I think it's a good campsite where you can spend time in nature with a superb view. I would like to bother you again.
The place to set up was free, and unfortunately it started to rain when I started to set up in the vacant lot, but the ditch was dug properly and it did not accumulate much.
There are no convenience stores or supermarkets in the village, and there are only two shops, so you need to prepare for the camp anyway.
There was a roadside station nearby, and I procured fresh shiitake mushrooms and asparagus and ate delicious charcoal-grilled food.
It is a very quiet campsite in the highlands surrounded by nature.
The mountain scenery doesn't look beautiful, and there aren't any special specialties or specialties, but the simplicity was a wonderful place. It is a hot spring paradise within 30 minutes from the car. It's a little farther than the nearest highway, but on the contrary, it's okay if there are few people.
The caretaker (1 person) has only daytime, but the management building with two coin showers was open for 24 hours. There are no convenience stores or supermarkets nearby, so I think it's better to finish shopping in a city separated by 30-40 before crossing the mountain. I used a free space plaza, but the peg, which had a fairly solid ground and was sturdy, also bent. The toilet and kitchen were relatively clean, and the toilet in the administration building and the immediate area was a washlet. Basically, there are no support services, so I think it is suitable for experienced people. There were many soloists.
I enjoyed the quiet camp because it was a solo when there were no other users. Be careful of insect bites.
