Very pretty grounds and buildings, the grounds are accessible by wheelchair but assistance will be required due to very steep slopes, the buildings however do not have wheelchair ramps.

江戸時代には、何度も江戸の街に出開帳を行って、庶民の信仰を集めていたことは落語などで知っていたが、どんなお寺なのか予備知識もなく訪れると、規模の大きさにびっくり。仁王様が鎮座する山門も豪壮だし、境内には三重塔があり、本堂も立派。紅葉の時期に訪れたが、スナップ写真を撮ると、画角によっては京都あたりの大寺のような風情がある。コロナウイルス流行下で、御朱印は書き置きのものだったが、最近のブームで値上げする寺社が多い中、こちらは300円と抑え気味でありがたい。立地的に、公共交通機関で訪れるのはちょっと面倒（タクシーで来ている人たちもいたが、JR横芝駅から10キロ弱あるので、けっこうな料金になりそう）。もしこれが成田山と同じくらい便利なところにあったら、ずっと有名になっていただろう。やたらと俗化していないのはよいが、惜しいことである。

The Shibayama Kofun stopped by on the way back to the Niwa Museum. If you drive from the park, you will reach the back gate and there is no parking lot (although a few cars can be parked in a vacant lot). I was surprised not knowing that there was such a magnificent temple in such a place. Visit with a red stamp (bookkeeping) of 300 yen. I was impressed by the mountain gate and the Mie tower.

The precincts are quite large and there are quite a few stairs, so it is convenient for people with disabilities to go from the top. It is an old temple, and the red stamp has already been written.
