Delicious and unique vegetable dishes that are totally worth a trip to this tiny town. The owner is really friendly, explains the dishes, and is accommodating of vegetarians (I emailed ahead to make a reservation and let them know I was vegetarian, so no fish sauce, etc). Not possible these days, but I wish I could go back!

Incredible! One of our favorite restaurants in all of Japan. We were traveling Japan for three months researching food and beverages. Gojo Genbei is a true gem with an outstanding menu and impeccable service. I am still dreaming about the strawberry and shiitake and kudzu yuzu dessert and persimmon wine. If you don't visit here during your visit to Nara prefecture, you will surely be missing out on something special.

Had an amazing full course meal. I'd suggest omakase option, save you all the trouble of figuring out what to try.

The rare local vegetable ingredients are fully utilized to create a vivid work. It will be more intriguing because the owner can explain each one carefully. The seasoning is based on the ingredients and the taste is light, but the soup stock is effective. Using 40 to 50 kinds of materials, 10 items are finished for 3500 yen. You will feel full because you will be relaxed 😃 It is the pride of Gojo City ❗️ It is a wonderful shop 💮
