Ikebukuro Post Office

I stopped in here to mail postcards to my family and friends back in the US and a friend in Greece. The wait was a little long, but nothing unreasonable. The woman who helped me was kind and made sure they went where they needed to go (everyone confirmed a couple of weeks later they got their cards!).

Sent my family post cards from here when we stayed. Small queue and easy service!

They don't like foreigners very much.

Contrary to the name "Ikebukuro Post Office", it is a very small post office. Due to the location, Chinese people are putting out parcels, so it is quite crowded. It's fine if it's early in the morning, but it may take about 20 minutes if you're not good at buying stamps at noon or evening. It seems that there are various details such as explanations for shipping to overseas, so it is difficult to proceed. In addition, there are many people who have a bad attitude toward customers, perhaps because of stress in such a work environment. Especially for men in their 40s who are in charge of postal services. I will be hit by my tongue. If you're in a hurry, I think it's better for each other to go early in the morning or to the post office of the art theater. As of September 2020, when this review was written, there are no overseas guests due to the influence of Corona, but there is also a Sakura Hotel near this post office, which is a place with many overseas travelers. Even if you look at other reviews, it is a very low review from overseas, so I would like you to take a seminar on improving customer etiquette. It's a shame in Japan.

There are many foreigners. I have been waiting for more than 30 people to take out my postal luggage, so I go to another post office. Correspondence is not good either.
