109 Cinemas Shonan

I only went once but was really pleasant. Seems most international movies are in English with Japanese subtitles, I was able to check which ones were in English in a board on reception. The rooms were the movies are displayed seems to be small, so it is not noisy and very comfortable.

Good place to watch movies. The snack bar was well staffed and had many options. The facilities overall were kept quite clean.

Terrible. No food, no drinks, you have to stay until all of the credits are finished. Someone was yelling in the theater and nobody tried to stop them who was working there. Also the theater is dirty, old, and has the exact same layout as a high school theater with a tiny little screen sitting behind a curtain. It was a really awkward experience but my group and I told each other we would never go back there again even if it was free.

Very nice and clean 109 Cinema with senior citizen and member discounts. Seats are comfortable and may accommodate obese person. Demerits: Absolutely too many previews with 3 repeats (about 15 minutes!!!); rather uncomfortably warm temperature (about 28 degrees centigrade); and, I don't know why the Japanese, who are probably more than 95% English illiterate, sit through the entire credit section (producers, stars, contributors, etc.) when they can't read English? BTW we saw Han Solo.
