This place is legendary, is open for over 100 years isn’t cheap but the quality is superb

Glad to have this chance to experience “a taste of 300 years”. A very high quality of eel dishes. The three ways to enjoy eel is satisfying. Those eel snacks are also delicious 🤤

The meal set pictured here is called “Ohitsu mamushi” and it’s a creative way to eat your Unagi Don. You are instructed to divide your don into 4 sections. First one, eat as is. Second, mix with seaweed, wasabi, and green onion. Third, with soup. Finally, the fourth section, you can eat it your favourite way. For ¥9700 for two sets, it was disappointing, to be honest. The unagi is nothing special. Usually, I like my rice with extra sauce but my partner’s rice was literally drowned in it. They close at 9:00PM so we walked in at 7:50PM. We were sent to the fourth floor. The staff disappeared until about 8:05. The unagi took 20 minutes to come out (understandable since they cook it fresh) but at 8:35, they came and told us they closed at 8:45 and that we need to leave. We were only 15 minutes into our meal. TL;DR: When they say they close at 9PM, it means the staff leave at 9PM. They will not hesitate to ask you to leave. Unagi is subpar. Overpriced for what you’re getting. Will not recommend, will not return.

came in at 830pm last night. the hostess was apologetic because they ran out of eel--it was Saturday after all. she inquired where I'd eat and even volunteered to name alternative restaurants. this is japanese attention to service that I love and that's why I always visit the country

This is good! Guests are guided to different floors and English menu is available. The eel is really good and I rank this right below Obana (Tokyo)!
