Ikkaku Shinsaibashi

An old-fashioned japanese shokuto (cafeteria) type of cushion features their grill chicken meat & drumstick. Great for those who wants some casual dining or quick meals. Their chicken leg meat is their top hit for sure, and the option for that is either tender meat or grill-crispy one. I think of dining soon after work is a good option for this one. Chicken meat was definitely tasty, and other home-type food were also available.

How can chicken taste so good? Get the Hinadori or Young Chicken, and order a couple of Onigiris to mop up the chicken oil. Your arteries will thank you for it. Wash it all down with an ice cold beer. A reservation is highly recommended or be prepared to wait an hour. Meanwhile, I'm sure I'll be dreaming of this chicken leg.

Don't miss this place when you are at Shinsaibashi if you love a good meal of chicken. Situated one of the street junction nearer to Dontonburi, it is located on the 3rd floor at the corner building at the end of the street. The restaurant opens only from 5pm, and has very limited seats. Be prepared to wait for 45-90mins. Go earlier if possible. Once into the restaurant, take a look at the menu, follow the instructions on how to order & how to eat the grilled chicken. Go for the younger ones (Hinadori), really tender & juicy, grilled to perfection in light soy sauce, dripping in chicken oil. The older chicken (Oyadori) can be a challenge. Much more harder & chewy. Don't miss Torimeshi (chicken rice) too. Overall, the dinner was excellent. If there's any disappointment, is the lack of a special sauce ie chilli sauce to go with it. Great dinner nevertheless!

Really good chicken to go with beer! The price is not bad either.
