It is the east gate of Sensoji temple. Formerly it was the Zuishin Mon Gate of the Toshogu Shinto Shrine in Asakusa. In 1642 Toshoga temple burnt but this gate still exists. Jinrikisha - pulled rickshaw has been rented here, priced at 8,000 yen for 30 minutes. A very interesting ride should try once if you have plenty of yen !

Nice spot for a quick stop and some photos - be sure to get your fortune as a cheap and fun DIY activity

As a part of Senso-ji Asakusa Temple, this shrine is located in front side of it.

Not so big but one of few original wooden building survived from earthquake and bombing in this temple.

Compared to Kyoto, I don’t see much kimono dress-ups, until I got here to Asakusa near Senso-ji. There are a few rental shops nearby. Not quite the old world charm you might get in the preserved streets of Kyoto but you get more 50s nostalgia here in Asakusa. A blend of traditional and old industrialized modernity. It’s quite an evident constraint with suited men and neon lights being juxtaposed in the background.
