天平時代創建という古い寺だが、戦乱で七堂伽藍を焼失。 本堂も現在再建中で仮本堂となっており、弘法堂と納経所だけのシンプルな寺だ。 ただ、弘法堂はやはりそれなりに年代と信仰の厚さを感じさせる風格を醸し出している。 駐車場は、幹線から入り、かなり急な短い細い坂道を登った先に車を止めるスペースがあります。
