The owners are very friendly and open people. The food was delicious and the price is very reasonable. The sake was good as well. Just ask them to recommend you something and let them surprise you. They understand/speak english quite well.

This is a small restaurant which is owned by a lovely couple. The food was delicious and the atmosphere splendid. Maybe the best evening I had in my stay in kyoto.

Read other reviews and took the opportunity to explore something off the Main Street. The setting is intimate and the food is excellent! Asked for both food and drink recommendations (in English) and for Kyoto specialities.

Highly recommend! Such a great local mon and pa restaurant, family owned, not speaking much English tho. You can just walk in and ask them to recommend whatever it is on the menu. It is a hidden gem in the alley. Menu is hand written everyday and the ingredients are all local. Super friendly service, excellent food quality, price very reasonable. Steam oyster is extremely fresh. Iberico pork, fried hamburger steak, and grilled fish are also very good. It is the ultimate local dining experience. I enjoy it more than many of those with Michelin stars.

It's a nice shop where you can live as you live without being nervous and decorating.
