石岡市府中5丁目の〔常陸国分寺〕弘法大師堂の前に芭蕉句碑がある。 蕉翁吟 いさ行かん雪見にころふところまて This Haiku monument stands at Kokubunji in Ibaraki prefecture. Kokubunji is a Buddhist temple built in each of the provinces of Japan by the Emperor Shomu during the Nara era (710 – 794). Some temples still exist while others ruined. The meaning of haiku carved on the monument is:- Let's go out for snow viewing As far as we can go Before we slip and fall

One of the Kokubunji temples in Japan. The signboard at the entrance is covered with trees and it is hard to see, but the remains inside have history.

From the current temples and shrines that were rebuilt in the Meiji era, it is hard to imagine the times.

It is a venerable temple. I used to play here when I was a kid. There should have been no parking lot ... Was it a little bit ...
