It's a retro and nice station. It's a Showa station. The Kumamoto train now ends at Miyoshi, and until I was a high school student, it ran to Kikuchi city and was quite busy.

Horikawa Station is located in the northernmost part of Kumamoto City among the stations of the Kumamoto Electric Railway (* Koshi City from the next Shinsuya Station). It is a station consisting of two lines on one side, and a retro and quaint wooden station building is also built. In addition, it is one of the few manned stations of Kumamoto Electric Railway, and there is a sales window for commuter passes, but please note that it is not resident and may be absent depending on the time and day of the week. There are restaurants, taverns, bus stops, etc. on the west side (prefectural road 37), but it seems that there is nothing special on the other side in the residential area.
