HALAL Japanese Restaurant ORIGAMI Asakusa

We were fortunate enough to travel to Japan last year. Finding Halal food was quite challenging but we luckily stumbled across this restaurant. Me being determined not to leave Japan without having authentic Sushi insisted on squeezing this place into our short 3 day stay. The food was absolutely delicious! The staff were super friendly and it was a nice relaxed and quiet atmosphere. We got these lil Origami momentos that we took home with us all the way to South Africa and now they are hanging in my living room making the place look pretty. Thank you Origami Asakusa! :D

Food were awesome. I spend a lot more than I've intended but it was worth it. Had the Sukiya domestic beef hotpot set (5k yen) and it comes with free dessert, which they will teach you how to make and steam it yourself. There is a prayer room here. Service was great! This place is easy to find as well.

Went there for dinner with two friends. All of us were very satisfied. It wasn't exactly cheap but I think appropriate for the quality of the food and also the service. I tried the Black Japanese beef steak and was amazed by the taste of the meat. Also all of my questions I had before visiting were promptly answered via email (in English). Will surely come again!

My friend and I were greeted and served by really friendly staff who helped us understand everything about the menu. However, when we ordered dessert (taiyaki), the waitress kind of forgot it on the grill, so it got burned. She took it back in the kitchen, stayed for a long time inside, so we assumed a new one was being prepared. Unfortunately, she came back with another one that looks very similarly burnt to the first one and she said “it is just overcooked on that side”. It was burned and it was the same one. I am only disappointed that she didn’t tell the truth, especially that it cost more than 1000 yen which is double (or triple ?) the price of the ones sold in regular Japanese shops and aren’t burned. I hope no one has to go through a similar experience again.

A beautiful restaurant with great service. The menu is all halal with extensive choice. A bit pricey but worth it for the authentic experience and the quality of the food. Highly recommended. They also have a prayer room available.
