In the old days, station staff would have entered and cut tickets during the time of manned stations. There were rusty latches and Kumoha 12 came out to the Okawa branch line platform. It's been a quarter century ago. Nowadays, the station building has been rebuilt, and it has become quite dull.

By the way, at Bentenbashi at 16:40 on the weekday timetable, the mileage for Musashi-Shiraishi is 1.7km, which is the shortest operating train among the six JR passengers as of August 1, 2011 (from Wikipedia).
