We have visited a large number of campsites in Japan and this one was by far the worst. We initially ( four families) booked for one night on February 11, and informed the site that we might stay for two. We were told that this was impossible, and that we would have to reserve two nights from the start. As we were worried about the temperature being too cold for our young children, we opted for one night. Upon checking in, we were told to contact them the following morning if we decided to stay two nights. There was only one other family in the site other than our group and, since the wind was strong and we feared the tarps would blow away, we positioned our cars to break the wind. Unfortunately, this meant impinging on another site. The following day, the staff were not happy about this and mentioned they could charge us for taking up too much space. One friend had to leave that day and decided to pay for a day camp. He went twice to the office to pay but found it empty. Around 4 o’clock one male staff member appeared demanding 1000 yen. He was shouting and scaring the children. I tried to talk to him, but he was a mouthy, nasty little man who refused to listen. I went to tell my friend that he was there, so that he could pay. However, he disappeared and took it upon himself to call the police. He then reappeared in a police car and demanded the money. He also accused me of not listening to him, obviously a police offense in Japan! Anyhoo, I told him my friend had again gone to the office to pay and he called me a liar. My friend then arrived ( back from the office) and offered the money. He refused it!! Maybe because another family who had paid in full for another night, had decided they’d had enough and had packed up and gone home. I strongly suggest anyone avoid this place like the plague, unless you like to be harassed!!

Great Camping ground! We’ll be back. We decided on 4 stars because we paid ¥6,000 plus for one night(family of 4) and we needed to take our own garbage home(first time for us) also there was no hot water available to wash the dishes or other things.

Beautiful and clean, but we had to take our garbage with us when checking out. We camp a lot and this was very inconvenient and shocking.

In November, I climbed Mt. Miike using the parking lot. The parking lot can be rented for 300 yen only during the off-season of the camp. I don't use the campsite ❗ It was off season but it was well managed. The toilet has been cleaned since the morning and you can use it comfortably. Thank you (^-^)
