Small peaceful well-maintained Buddhist temple with a little garden at the back. Standing in front of the main building, you will be able to see the top of the Skytree on the right. From what I could find out online, this is an Obaku Zen sect Buddhist temple that was founded in 1673 but the gate and main hall was constructed in the 1930s, modelled in the same style of the Obaku Zen head temple Manpukuji in Kyoto.

It is a temple that I stopped by while taking a walk in the area related to Hokusai in the northern part of Sumida. Hokusai has no connection, but he heard that he should avoid colds and coughs, and many worshipers during the flu season. Right now, the new Corona is rampant, so I headed to apologize. Then, maybe it was a kindergarten somewhere, I wore a uniform and had a prayer with my teacher about 10 people. You masked it properly and took a social distance. They were very well-behaved and good children.

It was quiet. Unlike other Zen Buddhist temples, it felt like a general temple like Taishakutenji Keiji, but the tiled roof is a little different. I want to go again someday.

A temple near the Sumida River, I don't know the details, but it is an easy-to-enter temple. Is it famous for the "grandfather", also known as the "coughing grandfather", a stone structure that you rarely see? I think it would be a good idea to hand over the writing of the red stamp directly. You had better put it in an envelope or something. The location is on the Sumida River side, about a 12-minute walk from Toei Oshiage Station. Is it about the same from Skytree Station?
