As a temple to protect women, it has become a popular spot for women in photography in recent years.
It is said that it was built during the Genroku era (1688-1704) by soliciting Kata's Awashima Myojin, who was in Kii. When the main hall was burned down by the Tokyo air raid, it was operated as a temporary main hall.
Awashima Myojin is famous as a guardian deity of women, but in the Edo period, it was called the “Awashima's Applicant”, and the faith of Awashima Myojin became popular among girls. Just as the god of marriage is popular, the fashion of girls may have been an important factor in marketing since then.
The festival deity of Kada Awashima Shrine is a famous name of Sahiko. Since it was on a small island called Awashima, it seems to have come to be called "Awashima Myojin". For that reason, Sensoji Temple calls it Awashima-do.
There are other places in the precincts of Awashimado, such as the Shinshin memorial tower, the Great Peace Tower, the Shakyo memorial tower, the water fountain, and the lantern of the womb in the womb.
Ume plums bloom in the new year and Yoshino cherry trees are excellent in the spring. It is also a hidden spot where you can take pictures of the three towers. (Sky Tree, Five-storied Pagoda, Sutra-copying Memorial Tower)
At Awashimado, there is a needle memorial service held on February 8.
A branch of Kada Shrine in Wakayama Prefecture, which is deeply worshiped by women as a guardian deity of women since the Edo era in the center left of the main temple of Sensoji Temple ⛩
Especially, the "Needle memorial service", which is held on February 8th every year, seems to be famous, and it is a must-see event where people use needles that are used in daily life, such as sewing, to stick soft tofu into the memorial service.
In addition, there are also stray memorial towers in the precincts that have a solid atmosphere based on that ☘️
In addition to that, it is said that in the hope of the child's health, one of the customs that has been practiced since the Edo era, the lantern of the womb in the womb and the gods and Buddhas enshrined in the shrine, were submerged in the water during the Pacific War and protected. I am glad that there are many highlights such as the rain water trough 😆😆😆
Especially the lantern of the inside of the womb is also interesting in design 😃😃
The shrine's shrine is nice with a nice red color, and it's very rare to be able to see the gods and Buddhas up close and happy.🎶🎶🎶
If you are a little tired from walking around Sensoji Temple, it may be a good idea to take a rest inside this shrine 🌿🌿🌿
You can relax because there are not many people coming ☘️☘️☘️
It is said that "Awashimado", which is now quietly located on the west side of Sensoji Temple, was used as a temporary main hall for a while after the main hall of Sensoji Temple was destroyed by fire in the Tokyo air raid. (In other words, the building that escaped the air raid)
Originally, it is a thing that solicited Awashima Myojin of Kita and Kada during the Genroku period.
It is said that it gathered the Edo-chu faith as a "guardian deity of women", and there are still stone memorial towers and stone lanterns where children can go to see a memorial service.
It was built in the year of the Genroku period by encouraging Kanda Awashima Myojin in Kii country (currently Wakayama and southern Mie prefectures). The current building has once protected the prestige. After the main hall was destroyed by the Tokyo air raid, it became a temporary main hall. Eventually it moved to the south of the current Nitenmon as Kagemudou, and in 1994 it was relocated to the current location.
Awashima Myojin gathered faith as a guardian deity for women, and in the Edo period there were people called “Awashima Applicants” who were preaching the faith of Awashima Myojin to women in Edo City. Currently, there is a needle memorial party on February 8th in Awashimado.
A stone lantern in front of the temple. It has been famous since the Edo period as a lantern in the womb. It is reported that if a child passes under this lantern, it will be used to seal insects and to remove pus.
Calm down. It always depends if you go to Asakusa. I said it was a power spot on TV, so I thought it would be crowded, but a calm time was flowing.
