Cute kappa buddhist temple. The temple itself is closed only open to reservations in advance. Definitely a cute place to look around if you are in the kappabashi area I want to get away from all the hordes of people near senso-ji.

No English. Couldn't go in the temple.

Immediately after entering, there is a kappa temple, where a mummy of the hand is enshrined. The enshrined kappa was in the Edo period when flood damage was serious. These are the kappa who emerged from the Sumida River, who helped Kihachi, a rain-fighting quotient who had invested his own money in the construction of hydraulic control. According to one theory, it is the origin of the name of Kappabashi Tool Street. It's within walking distance from Kappabashi Utensil Street, so it's also recommended as a detour when you go to Kappabashi Utensil Street.

It is a famous temple under the alias Kappaji. I visit the graves regularly. Similarly, many people visited the grave. In addition to the main hall, there is a hall with kappa. There is a so-called mummy called Kappa in the place that can be seen from the outside, so it is worth a look. Believe it or not ...

It is said that Kihachi, who made a fortune in Ame Kappa, completed the work safely with the help of the kappa that he had previously helped during the flood control work in this area. It seems that Kigen-san's Bodhi Temple was here at Sogenji Temple. Then, after that, it became known locally as "Kappaji". On the right-hand side of the entrance, there is a picture of the famous manga artist Kappa on the ceiling of "Kappado". There seems to be a kappa mummy, so it seems that you can see inside by pre-registering? is. By the way, the word I chanted is "Onkappaya Sowaka" (laughs)
