KARUIZAWA CAMP GOLD

One of the best camping sites in Japan. Extremely clean site with hot showers with plenty of rooms. There is a stream that crosses the camp site which make a good atmosphere. Also, a there is huge supermarket about 10min walk from the site, making it easy to access fresh Karuizawa vegetables and meat. Owner is really nice and offers good tips about using the site. Its newly renovated in April so super good conditions. I would recommend to anyone camping in Karuizawa. If I were to really pick one downside is that its a bit far away from public transport. But, its also a good point as it is far away from the city side. Enjoy.

This place is an underrated hidden gem! It was built less than a year ago, the facilities are super clean (shower and toilet) and the price is considered reasonable compared to the surrounding campsites. There are 2 sites, the forest site (with no electricity) the auto-site with an electrical plug. They provide cable extension too. For beginners, there's a full-rental option so you can come without bringing anything, and they also have the glamping option. They, however, don't provide plates and cutlery, so make sure that you bring them (they sell it on the store just in case) There's a small bar with a deck and some chairs for you to chill at. There's no other campsite with this kind of facility in Japan so I was pretty impressed. The campsite is so serene with a small river on the side, not as crowded, and the staff is very attentive even when we had trouble building our tent. Can't recommend this place enough and would definitely love to come back again!

relaxed place located directly at a small winding river with campgrounds on both sides. Nice bar to enjoy some drinks. Very friendly staff.
