A small and quiet temple.
I was climbing because it was a temple related to Keiji Maeda. There are many hydrangeas and I think it will be wonderful in early summer.
There is a parking lot. Please note that the road to the temple is narrow and it is difficult to pass each other depending on the road you choose.
There is a theory that Keiji Maeda, who is said to have spent his last years serving the Uesugi clan, was buried in the precincts of the temple, and a memorial tower was erected in the precincts. I am. The principal image is a magnificent statue of Amida Nyorai, a cultural property designated by Yamagata Prefecture. Every year, on June 4, the anniversary of his death, a memorial service is held in memory of Keiji. In addition to the red stamp, Keiji's Kabukimono goods are also sold at the temple office. Free admission, free parking available. There is also a place that is said to be the trace of Mugen-an in the surrounding area.
It is a temple of the Shingon sect Toyoyama school located in Banseichodo Moriyamashita, Yonezawa. The main idol is Zenkoji Sanson. It was erected as a separate temple of Zenkoji Amida-do, and prospered as a base for Amida worship of local residents such as lords and territories during the Kamakura, Muromachi-Edo period. Thank you, I received the red stamp of "Zenkoji Nyorai".
The main character of the manga "Keiji Hana",
It is a family temple of profit of Keijiro Maeda.
The hydrangea is so beautiful that it is called the hydrangea temple.
If you visit during the rainy season in July,
The luster of the rain-soaked hydrangea and the tranquility of the temples and shrines make you think of Keiji in the past.
Quiet precincts and hydrangeas with nobody, and the rain.
"But it is good."
"Zenkoji" in Domori is a temple with a history of Shingon sect, but it is famous for the memorial tower of Keijiro Maeda.
Keijiro Maeda was connected to the Maeda family who was the founder of the Kaga domain, but he was a terrible warlord who left the house and became known as a Kabuki thing. His way of life is famous for novels, manga, and games, and I think he is one of the Sengoku warlords with a lot of fans these days. (It is also one of the loose characters in Yonezawa City!)
In his later years, he deepened his friendship with Kanetsugu Naoe, and said that he spent his rest here in the land of Domori, so Zenkoji is his bodhisattva temple. The memorial tower behind was full of fans' messages.
Of course, it is a temple with many highlights such as the atmospheric gates, the splendid Amidado, and the hydrangea garden.
