It used to be a transfer station for the Keifuku Electric Railroad Echizen Main Line (currently the Echizen Railway Line). However, due to a decrease in the number of passengers, the section between Katsuyama Station and Echizen-Ono Station on the Keifuku Electric Railroad Echizen Main Line was abolished.

If you board the train from Fukui Station to Lake Kuzuryu at 9:08, the rear one of the two-car train will be separated at this station and will return to Fukui.

A station on the Emihoku Line, which has 1 island line and 2 side lines. It is the only manned station on the same line, and the green window remains an old-fashioned display. The station building uses roofs and trees to match the image of the castle town.
