Me and my girlfriend only stayed here for 2 nights but it became like a second home for us. Jun is the best host! He is such a storyteller and I had a great time chatting with him. He is very kind and not only picked us up from the station and drove us into town each day but he cooked us a delicious vegetarian hot pot which was probably the best meal we had on our whole trip. Jun also speaks very good English so that made things very easy for us. The other staff seem really nice too but we didn’t really get to know them. There is also hot spring bath here which was amazing to come home to and wind down and relax for the night. We miss this place already!

peaceful place to stay. Jun is a great host, he recommends a lot of great place to visit. Unfortunately, the weather is not good for hiking, we would like to come again for hiking. Lovely mineral bath to have every day.

This is by far the best accommodation I have ever stayed in, out of dozens of places across the world! Jun has created a peaceful and homely space that touches your heart and soul. The lodge is tucked away in the trees, in a more serene part of the area, away from the bustle of the tourist hotspots. Jun kindly provides transportation and recommendations for local attractions. He truly goes out of his way to make your stay special and peaceful. I highly recommend taking advantage of his expertise and local knowledge and also visiting the Peace restaurant for truly nourishing food. The lodge is cosy and relaxing and the living room has the most perfect view of a lake, which was frozen and ensconced in snow when I visited. In the evening, you can enjoy your own private mineral spa, which is an exceptional touch and adds to the cosy feel. I found my bedroom to be comfortable,warm and cosy; it also evoked a traditional Japanese style of living. I stayed in the winter time and did not regret it. There were perfect, clear views of Mt Fuji in the area and I'm told that you don't always get this in the summer. The pagoda is a beautiful spot to visit, as is Lake Kawaguchiko, as is the serene Aokigahara Forest and Saiko Lake. I definitely hope to come back to Peace and One and to visit this beautiful, sacred region again.

Warning! We booked this house through AirBNB for 3 days for our group of 10 people. Before booking we confirmed with the owner Jun over the phone that we would have the whole house for ourselves for the listed price. When arriving in the evening. we discovered that there were another 8 people staying at the house. The owner admitted that he had confirmed we would have the whole house for ourselves, but argued that the other people would not be in our way. And said that if we didn’t like it, we could cancel. There was no way we would find another house for 10 people at this last moment, so we had no choice than to stay. During the three days we stayed a number of other random people entered and left the house - does not really make you comfortable leaving any valuables there while you are out. On the morning of the second day we left some food items in the guest fridge - box of mini tomatoes, fruits, etc. These were gone when we came back in the afternoon. Lastly, the house clearly is not aired enough, and is extremely moldy. Obviously, I would strongly advise anyone against booking this place.
