Myotokuji

A cathedral is erected northwest of Katori Shrine on the island. The former hanging bell, delivered in the Pacific War, was cast in Kanen 2nd year (1749) and was erected before the construction of the Sanmon. There is an old plum tree designated as a natural monument on the grounds. Shimana Elementary School was founded at this temple in 1877. The surrounding area was being developed as a new residential area, and excavations were being conducted nearby.
