A cathedral is erected northwest of Katori Shrine on the island. It was opened as a dojo in 1297 by Ichinenjin's younger brother, Ito Aruka, in 1297 and belongs to the Todo sect, a part of the Jodo sect. It is stated that Myotoku-ji in the "New Edition Hitachi Kokushi" was the last temple of Rengeji in Shiga Prefecture (Maibara). Renge-ji Temple was formerly the head temple of the Toki sect in Kansai, and is now the head temple of the Jodo sect.
The grounds are 90 meters east-west and 75 meters north-south. It seems that there are earthworks and moats around the site, and traces of the remaining bases and moats are still left. The former main hall was built with a thatched roof and was erected in 1862. The back of the warehouse was erected in Bunsei 12 (1829) and is larger than the main hall because the statue of Amida was laid in the middle room of the warehouse while the main hall was closed. The statue of Amida has been lost, and it is said that the statue of Amida in the main hall has been moved from the one in Wenshu Monastery in Nakanishi. The mountain gate is a bell tower. The former hanging bell, delivered in the Pacific War, was cast in Kanen 2nd year (1749) and was erected before the construction of the Sanmon.
There is an old plum tree designated as a natural monument on the grounds. Shimana Elementary School was founded at this temple in 1877. The surrounding area was being developed as a new residential area, and excavations were being conducted nearby.
Soon a new hall will be completed
The main hall of the 160-year-old Tokumune "Myotoku-ji" in Tsukuba is to be demolished in May 2017. The history of the Tsukuba Expo, the merger of the Tsukuba City, and the opening of the Tsukuba Express have been achieved. Looking back, people gather and a town is created, and Shimana Elementary School is bustling with one class every year. In the center of this area, you can feel the power of guiding the main god of Myotoku-ji, who is quietly watching and guiding you, the true heart of the local members of the Dandan-jindan, and the genuine Akasai who has supported and protected the temple from Sumitan. I was able to. I have to feel the hint of prosperity. In 2018, a new main shrine will be built with the cleanliness of the members of the Danjin Danjin.
