Dining at Lee Jong Kuk 104 is a unique experience - sort of like meals in a contemporary art gallery (if at Chef's residence) or a scale-down Korea Furniture Museum (at his restaurant) which provide guests a glimpse of hanok living.
Cuisine was laboriously prepared and cooked with traditional methods and condiments (with his decades old fermented sauces). Plating was with a touch of modernity and play of colours (with seasonal produce) on elegant cutlery and traditional wooden tableware.
Once Chef 'drew' his signature 'Black Food' using a large white-plate as his canvas. Though all dishes were a feast for the eyes, they tasted decent and sophisticated too.
I particularly like their braised jeonbok and beef. Desserts were interesting too with a combo of traditional maejakgwa & yakgwa and newer spicy chocolate. Service was attentive and staff would endeavour to explain each dishes.
Just wish the restaurant team could prepare a print menu with brief description and has a selection of Korea Sool. Overall enjoyable three-hour-meals.
It seems to be a confidence but insufficient ability to lead the popularization of Korean cuisine.
This restaurant is selected by MICHELIN GUIDE 2019, and is serving fusion Korean cuisines. Very satisfied and good place to enjoy Korean cuisines.
A restaurant where Fusion Korean set meals can be enjoyed with course dishes. The decor in the store is also refined and cozy, you can enjoy delicious food (^ ^)
