We were at July about a week ago, expecting an exciting culinary experience. However, the food was mediocre at best; the quality of food maybe even worse than chained restaurants you find in North America except you're paying top dollar. This was by far the worse "high end" culinary experience I've had ever, not only did they break the cork of our wine but there was a hair on my lamb chop, they replaced it but not an experience you expect for a meal at this price. Plating style is also from the 80s.

This was a surprised find, we ran out of dining ideas so asked the hotel conceige. The young man suggested July in Gangnam, we didn't have any expectations but decided to give a try anyway. It's located in a quiet residential street not closed to underground station, the decoration is low key 60's glamour, with tasteful jazz background music to help the ambience. Service is cordial & professional. The best part is its innovative (but sensible) french dishes, we had the suggested 5-course dinner, plus amuse & petit fours, for ₩120K. All dishes were superbly prepared & tasty. In my opinion it betters some 1, or even 2 michelin stars restaurants in key cities. At this price it is a steal. This is the first 5 stars I awarded to a restaurant for several years, highly recommended!!

It was my first time to have a fine-dinning, and I totally satisfied with it.

Visited this place as part of the Table 2018 Gourmet Restaurant event offered by SK Telelcom. The food presentation was sophisticated, and the quiet ambience suited the fine French dining experience. Personally, I enjoyed the grilled scallops with bacon & leek chutney and the cheesecake duo decorated with mixed berry coulis. As for the entree, even though the steak was cooked to medium rare, it was slightly tougher than I expected. I guess it was the leanness of the meat rather than the preparation that made it hard for me to slice it. The pureed butternut squash nicely complemented the flavors of the steak, but I thought the gravy sauce somewhat lacked in flavor. Lastly, I wished the temperature of the food could have been managed better before serving; for instance, the steak was rather lukewarm, whereas the cheesecake wasn't cold enough. Overall, I would recommend this place to a friend.
