Great service! Always pleased with my visits!

We've been to the Embassy a few times due to having a child while in Korea. They've always been very helpful, even despite COVID-19. We are leaving in a month and a half and had to get an emergency passport. We were initially expecting a few weeks. When we arrived, they said we'd get it in a few days by courier, then we had it in our hands before we left less than half an hour later. The piece of mind provided was invaluable.

The service use to be excellent. You could either walk in or make a reservation to see and Consular Officer and they always wanted to help. Now you just get automated prerecordings. The biggest problem with the US Embassy it the Korean phone operators at hand. When you ask them to speak to Consular Officer they say "what for" and wants to be in charge of the situation rather than help. With due all respect their language skills and comphrension of US bureaucracy isn't always great. So I just don't understand why they constantly try to prevent us from speaking to a consular representattive.

Just across from the statue of King Sejong the Great (if you're looking directly at the seated King, it's to your right. Also- go around the right side of the building to the window. You have to check all electronics, including batteries. Only 1 phone, no larger electronics- tablets/laptops allowed.) Friendly and cordial staff. You can pay in US dollars or Korean Won, but you need the exact amount, you can't overpay nor can they give change. Credit cards also accepted.
